When a footing is not practical
Some gate openings sit on a patio, driveway slab or low wall where digging is not an option. The 5×5 in. Base Plate gives a 3x3 in. HD post a flat, bolt-down foot. It matches the post in material and color: 6063-T6 aluminum with black super-durable AAMA 2604 powder coat.
Fits these posts
Our walk gate post choices include a 3x3 in. HD square post with .090 walls and a screw bush that can either be set in concrete or stood on a plate. This is that plate. A 3 in. square post also appears in the sliding gate kits, for footing or wall use.

Each comes in black with a screw bush for swing and sliding gates. A flat press cap finishes the top.
Anchors and screws
No fasteners ship with the plate. For concrete, a wedge anchor measuring 3/8 by 3-3/4 in. is the listed choice for fence base plates, and #14 x 2 in. stainless screws are listed for the 3x3 HD post. Choose anchors for your substrate and have Globus Gates check the list.
FAQ
How many plates does one gate need?
One per bolted-down post. Most single swing gates use two, on the hinge side and the latch side.
Is surface mounting always suitable?
A gate post works harder than a fence post. Check your gate width, mounting surface and local code, and send Globus Gates your details if unsure.
