Latch side for openings between two walls

DIY walk-through gate kits from Globus Gates offer five post choices, and the first is a hinge post plus L-side post for openings between two walls. The Boxed 2 x 2 in. L-Side Post 6 ft is that latch-side piece, boxed separately. It is AAMA 2604 powder-coated 6063-T6 aluminum in black, so it will not rust or rot and matches black gate frames.

When buying it alone makes sense

• The hinge side is already installed and only the latch side needs a post.
• A damaged side post needs replacing without touching the hinge side.
• You want to combine it with an 8 ft hinge post, buying each side on its own.

Buying both sides at once? A combined kit holds the hinge post and L-side post together. The 6 ft 2x2 in. hinge post is also sold alone.

Tips before you order

Check that 6 ft suits the height of your gate. Decide whether the baseplate will fix to masonry (anchor bolt) or wood (wood screw). If the gate came from another supplier, check fit with our team. Install following the supplied instructions and local code.
