What it is for

Surface-mounted posts are only as solid as the bolts holding them down. This 3/8 by 3-3/4 in. wedge anchor is the fastener that holds a fence base plate to concrete. Use it when setting new posts on a slab or patio you already have, or to replace one that went missing.

Plates it pairs with

Several surface-mount options in our range bolt down through anchor holes, including the 5x5 in. plate that carries our heavy duty 3x3 in. post, and the baseplates made for the 2.75 2-way post. A steel base plate for the 2.75 post is also offered.

How many to order

Count the holes on one plate, multiply by your number of posts, then add a few spares. Fill every hole on each plate so the load is shared.

Keep in mind that the boxed 2x2 in. gate posts ship with their own fixings, either a 3/8 x 3 in. anchor bolt or a hex head wood screw. This longer anchor is sold on its own.

Good practice

Base plates make sense when digging a footing is not practical. Check that the concrete is sound before drilling, follow the anchor maker's guidance and local code, and contact Globus Gates with any questions about your slab. If a post will carry a gate, have us look over your post and plate choice too.

Is it sold in boxes?

No, each order unit is one anchor.

Does it work in wood?

It is specified for concrete. For other surfaces, contact our team.

Can I use it with the 2x2 in. gate post kits?

Those kits include their own 3 in. fixings, so you normally will not need this anchor for them.

Installation

Step 1

Measure the opening and check what the product mounts to.

Step 2

Assemble the pre-cut parts with the included hardware. No welding.

Step 3

Set, level and fasten, then fit any lock or accessories.
