Who this gate is for

If your side yard, courtyard or garden entrance calls for a timber style gate but you are tired of boards that grey and twist, this Profile 60 T&G Wood look kit is a practical swap. The infill is aluminum with a wood look surface, framed in black for a crisp outline on modern homes.

Kit contents

• Black 6' x 6' DIY-only frame kit, which carries a vertical frame with its cap, horizontal top and bottom members, two heavy duty hinges and a stopper
• 11 Profile 60 T&G slats, wood look, supplied as 6 ft lengths
• 8 black 7/8 plugs
• 1 additional HD hinge, giving three in total

Why tongue and groove

Profile 60 is a 6 inch slat whose edges interlock, so there is no space between boards and no view through the leaf. Because the grain finish sits on aluminum, it cannot rot, split or be eaten by insects, and the color stays even from one slat to the next.

Installation notes

Posts are ordered separately. Options include a hinge and L-side post pair for wall-to-wall openings, a 3.15 post for wall or concrete footing, a 3 in. HD post for footings and a 4 in. HD standalone post. A 6 ft solid leaf is a sizable gate, so check your post choice with Globus Gates if in doubt. Since the slats come full length rather than pre-cut, fit them according to the included instructions, and check local code before building.

Can I see through this gate?

No. The interlocking profile closes up completely.

Are other color combinations offered?

Only the black frame with wood look infill is offered for this kit.

How much upkeep does it need?

An occasional wash. There is no staining or sealing.
