A taller post for the hinge

This boxed hinge post is a pedestrian gate post that attaches to a wall. The 8 ft length helps where the masonry climbs higher than the gate and the post should run up with it, or when a taller gate calls for a longer hinge post. More post along the wall also means more surface for fastening.

Baseplate, plus your choice of a 3/8 x 3 in. anchor bolt or a 3/8 x 3 in. hex head wood screw

The contents match the shorter version, so nothing extra is needed for installation.

6 ft or 8 ft?

Apart from length, this post and its 6 ft sibling are identical. The L-Side Post comes in 6 ft only, so for an 8 ft pair, ask Globus Gates about options first.

Installation notes

Fix to a wall only. It is not meant for a concrete footing.
Choose the anchor bolt for masonry or the wood screw for timber.
Work to the supplied instructions and your local building code.

Aluminum resists rot and rust, which helps against masonry that stays damp after rain, and the black finish matches our black gate frames.
