Build your own infill on an HD base

This frame kit is for pros who keep their own infill on hand, owners who want a gate to echo a current fence, and repairs where the posts are still good. The kit handles the structure. You choose what goes inside, as long as it is a 3/4 in. or 1 in. profile.

Infill, posts and a latch are not included. The stand-alone 2x4 in. x 20 ft HD profile is 6063-T6 aluminum finished to AAMA 2604.

Why the HD frame is stiffer

A 2x4 in. section, corner brackets at every joint and a built-in stopper give a firmer base than lighter DIY frames, which helps with heavier infill or a gate that opens many times a day. Need another hinge? HD double support hinges can be bought individually.

Choosing posts

Order posts separately. Posts compatible with HD frame kits are a 2 in. post, a 3.15 post for wall and concrete footing, a 2-way post for wall mount only and a 3 HD post for concrete footing. Pick according to whether you are mounting to a wall, a footing or both, and confirm local code before you install.

FAQ

Will a 4' x 6' frame suit my opening?

Measure the finished opening and allow for posts. For more width, the 6' x 6' HD frame kit adds a third hinge.

Can I get frame and slats together?

Yes, choose one of the boxed DIY pedestrian gate kits instead.
