3 in. Flat Press Cap – Black

An open post top collects rain, dirt and debris. This black cap presses onto a 3×3 in. square aluminum post to seal it, with no screws and an optional bead of exterior adhesive for a permanent fix.

The 3 in. Flat Press Cap finishes fence and gate posts on homes and commercial sites alike. It covers the hollow end so water and grit stay out, and its flat profile gives the post a tidy, squared off look.

Fitting the cap

Wipe the post top so it is free of dust.
Dry fit the cap to confirm it sits square and flush.
For extra hold, run exterior grade adhesive around the inside of the cap.
Push the cap down until snug. On big jobs, a rubber mallet speeds this up.
Remove any excess adhesive and give it time to cure before rough weather.

How many should I buy?

One for every post on the fence, gate posts included.

Will it hold up year round?

The powder coat is made to handle rain, snow, sun and temperature swings, and resists salt spray near the coast.

Do windy sites need adhesive?

Adding exterior adhesive is the way to make the cap permanent in high wind areas.

Assemble the pre-cut parts with the included hardware. No welding.

Step 3

Set, level and fasten, then fit any lock or accessories.
