Short slats leave visible joints when an opening is wider than the board. With 18 feet to work with, this Alu 40 slat can cross a large sliding gate, top a long masonry wall or fill a pergola bay in one continuous piece of light, warm wood grain.

Cutting and handling tips

Draw up a cut list before you start so that no length is wasted. Keep the slat fully supported while you cut, and protect the grain surface during handling. Delivery or pickup of long material depends on your location, so arrange it with Globus Gates.

FAQ

Can I combine it with 6 ft slats?

Yes. Both lengths use the same profile and the same Yellow Oak color. Place a single order for the whole job to keep the shade consistent.

Does it need sealing like real oak?

No. The grain is on aluminum, so it will not rot or split and only needs a rinse now and then.

When is the 6 ft size better?

For standard sections and single gates, the shorter slat is easier to handle.
